Exterior Signage
Illuminated Signs
Channel letters and lightboxes are located on the façade or face of the building, all containing electricity, allowing these signs to light up at night. Channel letters have become the style of choice for most townships, as many have been trying to move away from lightboxes and incorporate a nicer and cleaner appearance with Channel Letters. These signs are not the most cost-effective, but they have a longer lifespan, especially with all the new technology and LED lights.
Even though the use of lightboxes has decreased, they are still common in some areas. They are a great inexpensive option for installing a sign at your business. A great advantage of a lightbox sign is the maintenance and ease of changing out the faces for a new look. Lightboxes have been used in shopping centers for years.
Property / Real Estate
Property owners and managers need signs to show space is available. Typically these are done as post and panel signs and used to advertise the space that is available to lease. These same style of signs are also used by commercial realtors and residential realtors. The difference between commercial and property signs is commercial signs are used for selling or leasing space, land, or buildings, while property signs are typically used by property owners or managers to lease space. AAGS has the ability to set up and design either style of sign to meet the requirements presented by the client.
Post & Panel Signs
Post & Panel Signs are common in the Real Estate/Property Management world when they need to advertise a location is "For Sale" or "For Lease" with outdoor signs. This style is also used to present names of housing communities, as well as some businesses and business parks. A post & panel sign is constructed with 1, 2, or 3 posts with a flat or routed panel attached to the posts.
Routed / Sandblasted Signs
Routed/Sandblasted Signs are commonly used when a more decorative, professional-looking sign option is needed. A style like this can be used in lots of different aspects; they can be used as a decorative post & panel sign, they can be mounted directly to a building, or installed as a monument sign.
Monument / Pylon Signs
Monument/Pylon Signs are common for shopping centers or industrial parks where there are multiple retail stores or businesses located inside a shopping center. They are commonly used to list out all the business names within a certain business park. This style can also be used for one business that wants to have one main sign on the road to show who they are and direct people to the businesses location.
Such signs provide visibility during nighttime for clear reading. Alternatively, Monument/Pylon signs can also be display message boards. These boards promote themselves as a group of businesses to showcase their identities or display special sales they're offering.
Storefront Graphics
Storefront Graphics are used to attract the attention of your clients before they enter your facility. Storefront Graphics are made up of many options. These graphics can be illuminated from the inside and some can have separate lighting shining directly on the signs mounted the façade of the building. You also have options for windows, doors, and walls. The styles of these signs can vary in size based on the size of your overall frontage.
A city or town normally bases the size of your sign on a percentage of your direct business frontage (the front of your immediate space). They take the total square footage of your building front to figure out the amount of area you have to work with for signage. For example, if you have 100 square feet of frontage and the city/town allows you to use 10% for signs, then you have 10 square feet to work with for the sign. This includes your main sign as well as any windows, doors, or walls.
